Environmental Toxins Limit Fertility
“A study by a research te at the Suel Lunenfeld Research Institute of Mount Sinai Hospital suggests that mothers who are exposed to certain toxic environmental compounds prior to pregnancy could limit their offspring’s fertility.”

Preventing Breast Cancer
With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month a cpaign highlighting how women can prevent breast cancer has been launched. The cpaign is not called Pure Prevention. TreeHugger has a summary of the progr as well.

In my opinion, there appears to been an increasing link between how we live and our health. This sounds obvious for things like obesity and heart conditions but the environmental and lifestyle link to cancer is not gaining more prominence. The idea of a “green lifestyle” is not about more than saving polar bears and sticking it to corporations. its about living healthier today and not leaving a toxic legacy for future generations. We should been pursuing the best available ways to minimize our impact on the environment rather than finding excuses as to why things are not feasible. The solutions we have today may not solve all the pro

i.e. with paper, scissors, and glue. I then spray the finished work with a heavy coat of acrylic spray (thus, the rich colors and depth), scan it on my computer and upload it. At times, I paint over the finished collage with acrylics (see the hair strand in the collage above and the “window” at the upper right corner); at others, I use markers to highlight certain elements or add additional features (like the white “prison bars” here).
